FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK

Pray Kingdom Prayers

As we see the magnitude of the vision that comes to us as we study the Book of Revelation, we can begin to see the bigness of the Lord's Prayer, where Jesus taught us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." If we can see this we can get a greater understanding of the importance and power of intercessory prayer.

Let's face it. Most of our praying is only about ourselves. We're praying about our own health, our prosperity, our success, our family, our friends, etc. And, of course, the Lord wants to minister to all of that. But if we could become more "kingdom minded" and "seek first His kingdom and His righteousness," all these other things would probably be taken care of more quickly and easily.

As we spend time in the Word and in prayer, we grow in our relationship with our Father, and as we grow in relationship with Him we begin to pick up His heartbeat and His desire for the nations to be reached and healed. As we pick up the heartbeat of God and hear His voice, the Holy Spirit in us helps us pray His desire along with Him. That is praying "kingdom prayers."

As the rebellious human race heads toward destruction there is only one hope. That hope is for a great awaking and a mighty move of God in the face of the kingdom of darkness. The prayers of the saints will bring about that move of God!
